About Wikwyre
Wikwyre (his family calls him Brad), grew up club hopping in Hamilton Ontario Canada and was a regular visitor to clubs in central Ontario. The DJ and radio bug bit, and Brad learned to DJ on vinyl.
Somehow going to college for Radio was a great idea - but sadly making ends meet took priority over the dream to be a pro DJ. At least he learned a thing or two about analog production before leaving college.
Fast forward twenty years. After a career in IT, some office jobs, and a two year stint with cancer, Brad decided that music and DJing were the way forward.
The dream was back.
That decades old dream resulted with an introduction of brand new project: Wikwyre. A revived dream of bringing back great EDM. EDM with melodic sounds, melodies, and bass.
Brad started producing in “the bassment”, and after joining Emanate, he sought mentorship amongst friends with Julian Gray and his patreon team of producers. Beginning with remix competitions and some original tracks, Brad began figuring out his new home in Ableton.
One of his highlights was earning an “Honorable Mention” of his remix of Julian Gray and Sofi Toufa’s “Revolver”. Clearly Brad was headed in the right direction.
What’s next? An album is in the works. Until then, more remixes of some 90s classics, some collaborations, and some singles are coming very, VERY soon.
